ABOUT

AICE is a rigorous, internationally recognized pre-university curriculum provided by Cambridge University in England. AICE is internationally recognized as a university-level qualification and is committed to a flexible curriculum with global acceptance while maintaining the academic rigor that is a keystone of Cambridge. The AICE program of study offers students one of the most demanding and rigorous college preparatory programs in the world. AICE courses and examinations in the United States are equivalent to first-year college and university courses.

Mandarin's AICE Teachers demonstrate the highest level of professionalism and are fully trained in their subject areas.  Mandarin's AICE Program is one of the most established programs in the region with a proven track record of success.

HOW TO APPLY

Information about application process for the 2024-2025 school year is available on the District's website: https://dcps.duvalschools.org/Page/22949

Interested incoming 9th and 10th graders may apply.

High School Acceleration Program application may be completed through the Focus Parent Portal Account beginning Thursday, December 1, 2023 at 8:00 AM and will close at 11:59 PM on Thursday, January 18, 2024. 

 

Parents that do not have a Focus Parent Portal Account may create an account by visiting Technology Services and then follow the directions for creating an account. Parents will use their email address and create their own password. Once an account has been created, parents will need to visit their student's middle school within 21 days and present ID for the middle school to approve their Focus Parent Portal account or provide their ID electronically to a school administrator and request approval.

 

Parents that have forgotten their password, have trouble creating a new Focus Parent Portal Account, or experience technical issues may contact the Help Desk (904) 348-5200 or email pga_support@duvalschools.org. The Help Desk is available Monday – Friday from 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM and on Weekends from 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM.

 

Once the application opens, parents may access the application by logging into their Focus Parent Portal Account. On the left-hand side select your Grade 8 child. Then select "High School Acceleration Programs Application."

AICE DIPLOMA

Advanced International Certificate of Education

At Cambridge AICE at Mandarin High School, we are dedicated to supporting students on their pathway to earning the AICE Diploma while simultaneously earning a high school diploma.  Learners must pass a combination of Cambridge International AS and A Level exams, with at least one course coming from each of three subject groups, as well as the core component, Cambridge International AS Level Global Perspectives & Research.

AICE APPLICATION TIMELINE

Important Dates:​

  • Thursday, January 18, 2024:  HSAP application closes at 11:59 PM

  • February 12, 2024: Decision notifications will be sent to the email address associated with the Focus Parent Portal Account used to complete the application

  • Tuesday, February 20, 2024: Parents who do not wish for their child to participate in the program in which they have been accepted must cancel seat offered by 4:30 PM through their Focus Parent Portal Account.
